Breathtaking Koh Tao & Koh Nang Yuan

The islands Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan, located north of Samui, are two of the world’s most breathtaking islands. They are widely known as the best snorkeling spot in the Gulf of Thailand, which is included in this one day tour. You can discover the absolutely beautiful coral reefs at some of the following amazing bays; Tian Nok, Sairee, Mango and Hin Wong bays. On this speedboat tour from Koh Samui we also explore Koh Nangyuan, the island next to Koh Tao and if you feel up for it you can take a walk up to the world-famous viewpoint for some amazing pictures.

What will you do during this tour?

In the morning we pick you up from your hotel or villa on Koh Samui, somewhere between 07:30 and 08:30, depending on your location. A more accurate pickup time will be stated on your confirmation email. After a light breakfast at the pier, we depart by speed boat from the north of the island and head to Koh Tao in about 1 – 1.5 hour. At Koh Tao we stop to do some snorkeling in one of the many bays around the island. We visit at least 2 of them, so you can enjoy different kinds of fish and different views of Koh Tao. Think of Mango Bay, Shark Bay, Ao Leuk or any other bay around the island.

Next we will stop around Sairee Beach in one of the many seafront restaurants for a delicious Thai buffet style lunch.

After lunch we will bring you to the stunning Koh Nangyuan, where you will have around 1.5 hrs free time. Here you can simply relax on the spotless beaches, snorkel in the crystal clear waters, or if you are feeling energetic, hike up to the world famous viewpoint overlooking this tropical paradise.

The stops are dependent on the weather and how busy it is at any given time at the bays and the stops are at the discretion of your captain and guide on the day. At the end of this day trip we head back to Samui, where we arrive at around 16:30. An air conditioned transfer will bring you back to your hotel or villa on Koh Samui.

Below average experience!

We had a great team on this tour!
Pick up was prompt and on time, and upon arrival at the port we boarded the speedboat pretty quickly. The team offered sea sickness tablets and plenty of water was available throughout the day.

On our way to Koh Tao though, the sea was getting pretty rough, and only got worse once we reached open water.

The tour itself wasn’t bad, but the weather was! So although this isn’t a reflection on the actual tour (the team were great and everything was well organised), the tour should really have been cancelled in the morning, given that we expect the tour provider to check weather beforehand and be able to make a decision on what is safe and what is not. Over half the group on the boat were sick, and the experience was very scary indeed!

Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan are great islands, but in my opinion, over-rated.
Of course it would have been great to have more sun(!), but not much else to do here.

As mentioned, the team were fantastic and attentive during the extremely choppy speedboat ride, but it should have been cancelled for everyone’s safety. At some points, we were almost at a 90° degree angle to the sea!

Must do from Koh Samui

Everything was perfectly organised. On time pick up at hotel. Light breakfast at pier, although I wouldn't recommend if you get seasick (better on an empty stomach as the trip is long and may get jumpy depending on sea conditions). Ken, the skipper, really nice fella. We made one stop in Mango Bay before heading fir Koh Tao for lunch. Then to Koh Nang Yuan for a two hours stop there for snorkelling or whatever you fancy. Back to Samui as fast as you can get. Always offering water and attending every need. Would do it again.
